Medical-Legal Expertise
As a Certified Independent Medical Examiner, Dr. Beal provides independent medical examinations, medical-record reviews, expert medical opinions, and expert-witness services. His clinical background in interventional pain medicine provides particular expertise in the evaluation of spine disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, radiculopathy, peripheral nerve conditions, prior surgery, and complex treatment histories.
His medicolegal evaluations are grounded in comprehensive medical-record review, clinical examination, and evidence-based medical analysis. Dr. Beal's role is to provide an independent and objective medical opinion based on the available evidence, regardless of the outcome sought by either party.
His areas of medicolegal expertise may include medical causation, treatment necessity and reasonableness, maximum medical improvement, permanent impairment, apportionment, functional limitations, future medical care, and other questions related to the evaluation of pain and musculoskeletal conditions.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Beal's clinical philosophy centers on understanding the underlying causes of pain and functional limitation rather than simply treating symptoms. His training allows him to integrate physical rehabilitation, interventional procedures, neuromodulation, and other evidence-based treatment strategies when evaluating complex pain conditions.
He also provides cash-pay second-opinion consultations for individuals seeking an independent assessment of a diagnosis, recommended treatment, or interventional pain procedure.
A Commitment to Comprehensive, Evidence-Based Medicine
Dr. Beal believes that high-quality medical opinions begin with a thorough understanding of the individual, the medical history, and the available evidence. Whether providing clinical care, a second opinion, or an independent medicolegal evaluation, he strives to provide thoughtful, well-supported conclusions grounded in his training, clinical experience, and the medical literature.
Originally from Utah, Dr. Beal is grateful to practice in the community where he grew up. He is fluent in Spanish and values the opportunity to communicate with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Beal enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors. His interests include SCUBA diving, hiking, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Beal Medical is committed to providing independent medical expertise, objective evaluation, and clear, evidence-based medical opinions.
